Looking to make another break-through year, Carrborobotics came up with an ambitious plan for the '26 season: A complicated auto-targeting turret robot designed to score points as efficiently as possible. Deadlines creeped closer than expected, but with a win at FNC Asheville in week 2, the team managed to clutch a spot at the FNC State Championship. With a freshly redesigned robot and a new defensive strategy, Carrborobotics and their alliance upset the #1 team in NC for the first time in team history, earning their spot at the FIRST World Championship! Through constantly changing strategies and countless on-the-fly iterations, Carrborobotics made their 2026 season one to be remembered.

After making team history by qualifying for Worlds the year before, Carrborobotics came into the 2025 season ready to keep the ball rolling. REEFSCAPE brought a whole new set of challenges, but we started strong at Catawba County, finishing 3rd in the playoffs and taking home the Judges’ Award. Unfortunately, we ran into a rough patch of matches at our next district competition at Mecklenburg County, ending qualifications at 24th place. But, we dug down deep with some gritty playoff wins, ending up finishing 3rd after playoffs and took home the Team Sustainability Award. Between these two district events we proved we could consistently compete at the top of the field, and at the North Carolina State Championship we finally finished 13th in qualifications and made the playoffs for the third time to end our season. While we didn’t make it back to Worlds in 2025, REEFSCAPE's challenges and lessons gave us plenty to build on and set the stage for what came next.

Building on the momentum of last year's comeback and return,  Carrborobotics soared to new heights in the 2024 season,  leading to their attendance of the FRC World Championships for the first time in the team's history! After a season full of dedication and innovation, the team’s hard work paid off with a strong start to the season, ranking 1st in qualifications and playoffs in North Carolinas week one FNC District Orange County event. As they pushed through challenging regional competitions, such as  the UNC Asheville event, and North Carolina District Championships,  they earned their spot among the world’s top teams. Their journey in 2024 led to many new achievements, such as two autonomous awards.
